Shannon Schambeau-Patterson is a beauty queen from San Antonio, Florida who holds the Miss District of Columbia 2005 title. Schambeau was crowned Miss D.C. on July 9, 2005, and also competed in the Miss America 2006 pageant held January 21, 2006, where she finished as 4th runner-up. Schambeau was succeeded by Kate Michael as Miss D.C. on July 1, 2006. Schambeau also competed in the 2007 Miss District of Columbia USA pageant, finishing as first runner-up on December 9, 2006.
Schambeau currently works for the International headquarters for Special Olympics in Washington, DC. She is the Manager for Donor Relationships. Schambeau has been a dedicated volunteer for the Special Olympics since the 6th grade. Additionally, Schambeau graduated Magna cum laude from St. Leo University in 2003 and also earned her Master's Degree in Business Administration in 2005 from the same university. In June 2006 as the reigning Miss D.C., Schambeau was also chosen to throw out the first pitch in a Washington Nationals game against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Schambeau and Nationals' pitcher John Patterson were married on November 10, 2007 in San Antonio, Florida.
On Jun. 12, 2010, Schambeau won the Mrs. Texas America 2010 pageant under her married name, Shannon Patterson. She competed in the Mrs. America 2010 pageant, which was held in September 2010 in Tucson, Arizona.[1] She placed in the Top 6.[2]
